Taking place at Teviot Row House Edinburgh, on 11&12 April 2012, Wide Days offers a broad range of cutting-edge seminars and workshops as well as an evening of showcases from some of Scotland’s emerging acts.
If you have been to Born To Be Wide nights or Go North then you will have had a good taster of what will be on offer for the two days and if not, you can watch the various Wide Days videos from last year to get a feel for the kind of talks that will be taking place during the day. Topics range from Modern A&R to Getting Gigs Abroad making for a diverse range of discussions:
If you’re starting out it really is the best way to get to grips with current music industry discussions and have your say alongside being able to talk to panelists afterwards. We recommend that if you are in a band and have some music online and want to get your music heard then take along cards or a small flyer with a link to your music. Moo MiniCards with a Soundcloud or Bandcamp link are great but anything that people can carry around with them easily is always best.
General priced tickets for the two days are £45 (+ booking fee) but if you’re off work / college and fancy a stay over in Edinburgh you’d be best to make the most of it and opt for the special hostel package at £55 (+ booking fee). This gets you access to both days activities and a bed for two nights at the Art Roch Hostel in Grassmarket.
So do yourself a favour, instead of buying yourself loads of Easter Eggs treat yourself to some wide days.
